Hello,
Enjoyed the segment on home improvements. Loved the mud room shown in the house in Vt! (The owner was a realestate agent). I am wondering if plans are available for purchase....
Thanks

Used to be your friendly banker was a source of funds for new businesses. It would appear that same

banker isn't about to take much risk no matter how good your business plan "we'll take your house

also as collateral just to seal our position." Cost of start-up varies according to how much you

can put up initially and how soon you develop a cash flow.

As for your article on the investment fraud scheme here in Quebec we had the case of Earl Jones

who preyed on widows everyone just called him "Uncle Earl" and he took his family and friends

for something close to one hundred million. The group who lost all their funds? some are now on

welfare for the first time having to deal with the indignity of being poor for the first time in

their lives. The group has also banded together to go after the banks who appeared to look the

other way at times when Earl Jones operated as executor in many "in trust" accounts. The banks

just may have aided the frauder in his many check cashing/fund switching manouevers.

I was laid off back in December. I am lucky because I was ready to move on, and I was expecting it. I still felt a sense of sadness and loss even though it was something I was anticipating.

However, I have spoken to other coworkers who have been laid off and there are some very difficult emotions that arise from it. People are often blindsided, they are very angry, and very bitter. There is a great sense of loss, especially for those that were really committed to the company and really saw themselves as spending their entire career there.

The emotions effects their family life, and their desire to want to get a job. I have spoken to people who, months later still can't get over the loss. I think those that have found a job right away are the ones that emotionally move on quicker. I also believe that how the company handles it and talks to the employee has a big impact on how they will feel walking out of there.
